SQL Server Setup

    Hello,

    I have few queries regarding SQL Server setup,

    Please note that i want to use it for developing applications(not commercial) using VS 2005 and want to go for some trial/free download available on net.

    - Which SQL Server Edition should i install for my requirement (i.e. simply creating and maintaining databases etc.)

    - Second, i downloaded SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition and SQL Server 2005 Express Edition, but could find only three configuration tools, which i don't feel are of any help to me.

    Can anybody there tell me when these versions are used or even direction to some web-link will be helpful.

    Hi,

    You need to install Microsoft SQL Express Management Studio Express to manage the database and maintenance.

    Or just spend $40-50 bucks and get SQL Server Developer Edition. The developer edition gives you all of the power of the Enterprise Edition, which is what you large corporations are going to use.

    I have downloaded Management Studio and able to work with my database with this tool 🙂
