Hi ,
we use SQL Server 2012.
When we try to look into the failure messages of SSIS packages in SSMS, sometimes the result page will not get updated for a longer period.
if you try to close the window then SQL Server will ask for restart or debug. we do not have much option, and we go for restart of the SQL instance. Do we have any particular reason on why it is happening so and how can we avoid this?

Are you sure the instance is restarting? I get this issue, but it's just SSMS crashing and having to be restarted, not the instance. I am not sure what the cause is yet, but I expect it is a dodgy patch, add on or similar.
