SQL Server registration failed

  • I cannot register a new SQL Server at my client computer. It pop up an error message "SQL Server does not exist or access denied ConnectionOpen (Connect())" Please help me, urgent case.

  • Couple of things to check

    1. Are you typing the server name in correctly?  ie NOT \\Server but Server
    2. Are you attempting to connect to an instance?  ie Server\inst2
    3. Do you have the correct password/login
    4. Is the SQL server in a different domain?  IF yes are the domains trusted??

  • I live in Rio (Brasil), and my computer is server by a X#@$!*>~) DSL company... As an (expected) result, twice a month the connection simply stops unexpectedly...!

So, I have to reconnect the DSL...

Should it be your problem, too?

(I hope You) have a good time!
