SQL Server Performance Counter Lost

  • Anyone running SQL Server 2000 EE with SP3 in active/active cluster environment have problem with SQL Server performance counters that can not be seen by performance monitor? Or You do see them for both default and named instances from perfmon.

  • Have a look at Knowledgebase article 812915.

We ran into this bug as soon as we installed SP3.

  • Yes, I did but it doesn't apply to my sitution. The SQL Server performance counters show up without any problem if SQL Server running active/passive in service pack 3. It just happens to active/active configuration.

  • I have an instance of SQL 2K SE SP3 and I cannot get the SQL Counters back into Performance Monitor. I read the knowledgebase article (#812915) relating to this issue. I made sure no instances of Performance Monitor we actively attached to the server. I have restarted the SQL Server services and still no luck.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks...

  • I did reproduce the error as described by KB 812915. Thanks to ianscarlett.

I have confirmed it is a SQL Sever bug and Microsoft has a fix for that. If you do see same error in your SQL Server errorlog as said in 812915, Call Microsoft for the fix.
