Hi ,
Our network guy changed one of the server name from A to B. He disabled sql services before doing this.
But now sql serverices is not starting up…please advice. Server name issue?

check the application event log for further sql server startup error messages and post them back

Check the security log as well. Perhaps you have a login error?

You will want to find out exactly the procedure they took and what occurred. If its been renamed as they've changed the domain then security is likely the issue as Steve says.
Renaming a host on its own will not cause an issue with sql starting although it can cause other issues. You will need to rename the sql instance to match the host once you get it working

Resolved, renamed sql instance to match with hostname
and started sql with correct accountname. thanks
