SQL Server name is different from NT Server name

  Hello, I' m new in this forum and hope anybody can help me.

  We 're now planning to upgrade our system to a new server. I investigated the current settings of the old server, I found that the SQL server name is SQL1 (Using EM to list server), but my NT server name is NT01. I then used ISQL/W and typed:

  SELECT @@SERVERNAME

  it then returned me NT01.

  Our SQL server version is 6.5 and the network protocol used is Nwlink IPX/SPX.

  I thanks everyone for the incredible help for telling me how this configuration can be made.
