sql server max memory

  • Sql server max memory config is 100GB and total memory is 128 GB.

    64 bit sql server 2008 SP3 enterprise.

Though the max server memory is 100 GB , sql server is just making use of 60GB from past few weeks.

Need help to figure out this issue.

    Thanks,

  • Not a problem. SQL Server is able to meet your users needs with only 60 GB of memory. If it needs more, it will take it and use it up to the 100 GB you have set as the maximum memory for SQL Server.

  • Agree 100% with Lynn. Is there any signs of memory pressure or any other reason why you think it should be using more than it is? If not, then you're fine.
