I was wondering what tools people use to manage SQL server. For example, we've always been Oracle until fairly recently and made heavy use of Toad.
Now I know *I* can use the SQL Server Management Studio for most everything, but not all of our people will have access to that. Are there any good management tools (ala Toad for Oracle) out there for SQL server? I know there is a version of Toad for SQL Server, but well.. it sucked.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Most SQL Server DBA's use SSMS because it is a good tool for managing SQL Server. There are other tools out there, but most of the good ones are not free. You can look at tools by Quest, Idera, and Red Gate. Symantec also has it's i3 for SQL Server. It really depends on how many SQL Servers you are talking about managing that really determines if you "need" another tool.

ApexSQL also has some.
I use Management Studio for most of my SQL work.
Why would some people not have access to it? You can install it on any number of machines.

Depends on what you want to do. Lots of tools out there.
I'll add a note that sqlSentry has a few great tools.

Thanks for the suggestions..
Personally I find SSMS works just fine for me, but just wanted some options. I'll take a look at some of the other tools out there. Understand that the others wont be free, but all I can do is take a look and pass along what I think.. the bean counters will decide whats in the budget.
