I hope that someone can assist with my problem;
My management studio has been working fine for a long time when it suddenly stopped responding when trying to connect to the DB engine. It asks for the Username and password and nothing happens! When connecting to DB engine from another PC or using the local admin account it works fine, just the domain account that does not respond.
We use the SA login.
The domain account is added to the local admin group.
We are using SQL server standard edition SP1 with Windows server 2003.

Really dumb answer but have you restarted the server? Also have you recently installed any updates you aren't aware of (i.e. Automatic updates switched on).

I have, I have also reinstalled SQL server. Automatic updates are switched off, so there are no updates that i am aware except perhaps the virus software.
