Sql Server Logs

  • Hi,

    We have a sql server 2008 64-bit.

Sometimes, sql server did not respond and we restarted the services.

    Now we fix a problem.

But we want to know that when the problem was occuring.

Unfortunately,We have no event log,it is deleted.

Can we find restarting service log from SQL Server views?

    Best Regards,

  • Check SQL Server Error log..If that wat u mentioning then check system logs..

  • I checked but I have only 1 week Sql Server Error Logs .

but I need 4 months logs:(

  • You sure u cleaned the logs??

  • Yes,I have only 1 week logs on sql server logs

  • U checked the default folder??

by the way y u need last 4 months info??

  • Yes I need last 4 months info.I saw some error logs in the default folder.

But they are not clear for me

  • I'm guessing I know the answer to this already, but here goes....

Have you been backing up your binaries folder? If you have been then you could pull all your logs back from tape.

    Hope this helps,
    Rich
