SQL server licensing

    Hi Experts,
    I am new to SQL ,Is it possible to use one license of SQL on two separate servers?
    Please help me to understand this :6 X SQL Server Standard per core license? Does it mean i can use the license on 6 servers ?

    I am not a licensing expert but unless we are talking about Developer Edition in a dev, test, or demo environment, or the free Express version, the only time a license applies to more than one server is in an active/passive failover cluster when you also have purchased Software Assurance as well.

    Perhaps that is saying you are licensing 6 cores of SQL Server Standard edition on 1 server?
