Hello
Does it charge separately for the second node in the Active/Active Cluster set with 2 or more number of CPUs in it?
I guess for 2 node Active/passive, the passive node license will be free as there will not be any available SQL Server.
Is there any easy reference to understand the licensing terms in SQL server 2008 and onwards editions?
Thanks.

eg. http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/3/c/73cad4e0-d0b5-4be5-ab49-d5b886a5ae00/sql_server_2012_licensing_reference_guide.pdf or just google: mssql licensing guide.
From SQL2014 license version you must have Sofftware Assurance for passive node.

There are liscencing guides available for each edition:
2012: above
How are you licensed now? If you are licensed per processor, you need to license all processors on both servers. It doesn't matter if you have affinity. If you have two instances on the node 2, you must license all CPUs in 2008 and cores in 2012/2014.
IF you are using CALs, I think you need to license just the active instance on each node.
Edition matters, so if you're Enterprise, I think this can change.
