Hello,
Not sure if this post should be in the 'SQL 2005 Administering' section but the question is sort of related to that.
Is there a template/checklist/document that someone might be aware of that describes what are the standard things to analyze for SQL 2k5?
It comes in handy when visiting a client for the 1st time and analyzing their SQL Servers 2005.
Any information is very much appreciated.

Hi Ammad,
There is a tool that looks at a server and compares it against generally agreed upon best practices for SQL Server 2005. It's called best practice analyzer (ver. 2.0). It isn't perfect, and it has a bit of a performance hit running on a production server, but it certainly is a start. It also has an evolving set of rules it checks on. There was a July release just recently with some new checks, etc. At any rate, here's the link to the Microsoft download site:
Thanks,
Eric
