OSG helps the biggest companies solve their biggest problems...
We currently need at least one strong MS SQL Server person...ASAP!! The right person could literally start this week!
The position could be based in either Las Vegas or
Environment
Our client has been maintaining and patching a critical SQL Server application for a while now. There is a front-end server and large MS SQL Server database on the back-end. They added Legato from EMC to the system and upgraded several parts of the hardware, and now they are having real big problems with the system. There is no redundancy, and they are thinking of adding log shipping to the system.
Challenges
We need someone to come in and get familiar with the application, assist with support and help them evaluate what is really needed. Then, you will focus on adding redundancy and log shipping.
Also, the backend server was upgraded with Dell servers and it’s not working properly. You need to be able to wok through the issues and also put pressure on Dell to help. There are 3 locations running this application, and one is at capacity and also needs to be upgraded.
Summary
Our Fortune 500 client needs help ASAP. We have 3 major challenges:
1) Help with support, evaluate what’s going on and offer solutions.
2) Handle the redundancy and log shipping issues.
3) Get the back-end hardware up and running.

It looks like there are several issues. What is the hottest issue at the moment?
Is the backup software causing problems on the DB server?
Leaving this place to work on your project would take significate $$$.

These issues are closely related...
The environment is unstable because of both hardware and software issues. It could go down at any time...causing significant grief.
We are coming in to make make offers around making the environment stable and adding redundancy.
If you are interested, please forward a resume...
