SQL Server failed, no information indicating what caused it to restart. System event logs do show any hardware failure.
Does anyone know what the following message from application log indicate? Or the cause?
[sqsrvres] printODBCError: sqlstate = 08S01; native error = 0; message = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]Communication link failure
The following is from SQL Agent log:
2012-01-19 18:32:22 - ! [298] SQLServer Error: 121, TCP Provider: The semaphore timeout period has expired. [SQLSTATE 08S01]
2012-01-19 18:32:22 - ! [298] SQLServer Error: 121, Communication link failure [SQLSTATE 08S01]
2012-01-19 18:32:22 - ! [298] SQLServer Error: 16389, Communication link failure [SQLSTATE 08S01]
2012-01-19 18:33:32 - ? [131] SQLAgent$XYZ service stopping due to a stop request from a user, process, or the OS...
Any idea on what could be be cause for the error?
Please advise.
