What's confusing you? If there's something specific you don't understand, like what's a heartbeat, start a thread and ask a specific question.
BOL has a simple, but straightforward approach. You could also see if one of these helps you:

Sunny, if you're interested i have a guide that shows how to deploy a virtual sql server cluster which you can then use for test\educational purposes.

Hi Perry,
I know i'm jumping in here a little bit but if the offer still stands would I be able to get a look at that guide?
Just started a new job and need to get up to speed with the lingo!
No worries if not but it just sounds like something i could work through over the weekend.
Oh and at home Iām using SQL Server 2011 (Denali) Enterprise Evaluation.
Cheers

SP3 installation failed on SQL 2005 named instance in cluster.actually we had 2 sql cluster instances one default ,one named .
default instance was moved to different servers so they removed default instance resources and attached to new cluster servers ,but they did not uninstal default sql instance in my cluster .
I tried to instal sp3 on sql named instance in my cluster i got below error, even i did not select default instance name.

Hi everyone,Is there a good place to read about SQL server failover clustering? I find BOL little confusing.
Thank you.
Allan Hirt has a good book on SQL Server High Availability.
Also please note that clustering (and HA/DR in general) is an ADVANCED topic and you REALLY need to know what you are doing or get professional help if you are going to pursue this for your company.
