I began getting the error message "SQL Server evaluation period has expired", so I went to the Microsoft site and purchased the SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition which should arrive in a day or two.
My question is, how do I retain the databases that I had in there? I can't get in to save them. Anyone have any experience with this?

Someone on another forum suggested:
What I have done in the past is copy all the files in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data" and paste them into that same folder when you get the Developer Edition. This should take care of your problem.
I'll try this.

Or, after you get the developer edition installed:
Temporarily reset your system clock to a date prior to the end of your evaluation period. Then you can use the eval edition.
You may have to reboot first.
Then, use the copy database wizard to get the database you need, reboot, reset the system clock to the current date and time.
