Can someone explain how the favorites can be used in the SQL Server Ent Mgr running in MMC.
I can not seem get any sort of functionality out of the favorites options in MMC.
Let me explain.
I am using Win2k SP4 (MMC 1.2). I have a few server groups and each has multiple servers listed under them. I am aways having to go and check a job under the SQL Server Agent for one particular server.
I noticed the 'favorites' option in MMC (I have to admit, I had never noticed or used it before), so I thought I would give it a try.
I navigate to the node for the jobs and add it as a favorite.
(It's path is "Microsoft SQL Servers\Dev Servers\DevServ1 (Windows NT)\Management\SQL Server Agent\Jobs")
The favorite shows up in the 'favorites' list under MMC, but when I select it it takes me back to root node for SQL... 'Microsoft SQL Servers'.!!
Shouldn't it open the 'Jobs' listing view for the server specifed? I have tried this on a couple of different machines (workstations and servers) and the same thing happens.
How should the 'favorites' work?

Never tried it and I don't see the option in XP. I'll see if I can dig something up.
