SQL Server Developer - Philly, PA

  •  I am seeking a new opportunity that will allow me to apply my technical knowledge of SQL Server 2000.  Here is a brief list of my qualifications:

    • Created, normalized, and implemented relational database designs in SQL Server 2000.
    • Back end development in Transact SQL. Wrote stored procedures, views, triggers and dynamic SQL scripts.
    • Imported/exported data via the DTS wizard in SQL Server.

In addition, I have experience in web development and the full life cycle process.

Currently, I reside in the Philadelphia, PA area.  I am not willing to relocate.  I am seeking a full time position.  I also have interest in becoming a junior dba.  I can be reached via email at sqldavid@yahoo.com

    Thank you.

  • I originally posted this message back in March.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to crack in the DBA job market?

  • One thing I would say is improve your database administration skills.  You seem to have good experience with T-SQL development, but DBA's also have to be very strong in backup/recovery, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.

Finding a DBA job may take some time. I was able to find a job as a junior DBA but had to leave for personal reasons.  It was 3 years before I got a job as a DBA.  I would say keep looking but in the meantime try to expand your skillset because it will help you when you get the DBA job!

    Good Luck
