| Senior Database Administrator Job Description: | |
| This person will participate in engagements focusing on database installation, maintenance, security, high availability and performance tuning. | |
Responsibilities: | |
| • Installation and configuration of database servers for development and production environments | |
| • Designing and developing DB installation, data migration, and maintenance tools | |
| • Keep the Logical and Physical data models synchronized | |
| • Generate the Physical database design for the data model | |
| • Defining and enforcing database standards, policies, guidelines, and documentation | |
| • Implementing database maintenance, backup & recovery plans | |
| • System Monitoring - Monitoring alert logs, dump files and other logs for errors. | |
| • Performance Tuning - Identify performance bottlenecks and develop solutions as to how to address them. | |
| • Be involved with Capacity Planning | |
| • Assist in defining requirements and test cases for database components | |
| • Assist development team with DB development tasks: data modeling, complex SQL, stored procedures, optimization, etc. | |
Qualifications: | |
| • 4+ years of extensive, hands-on experience working as SQL Server DBA | |
| • Intimately familiar with SQL performance troubleshooting/monitoring/tuning, database replication, migration, and restoration. | |
| • In-depth knowledge of: | |
| o SQL Server 7, 2000, 2005 | |
| o Transaction SQL and stored procedures | |
| o Knowledge of DTS, BCP Data Manipulation | |
| o Microsoft clustering | |
| o .NET, JavaScript, HTML, VB, Visual Studio, IIS | |
| • Excellent communicator with strong problem solving skills. | |
| • Ability to work independently yet cooperatively. | |
| • Team player, ready to take initiative, to think out-of-the-box. | |
| • Experience in financial services is desirable. |

This position is paying a base salary of around $100-110k+/yr on a base salary as well as a very competitive bonus (20%+) and great benefits/401k/vacation etc.
