Hi
As a long time Oracle DBA who recently started working on SQL server, I am looking into getting SQL server certification for DBAs; this is also the request from my manager.
Thanks, Ram

BIG NOTE - The current product based certifications and the MCSA/MCSE/MCSD etc exams are all being retired as of 31st Jan 2021. So if you are wanting these certification you need to ensure you are getting the required exams completed before that date.
Microsoft is moving away from "product" certifications to "role" certifications, although what is going to fully replace the products exams with the role exams is yet to be fully seen.
PRODUCT BASED EXAMS
Depending on which version of the certification you want you will need to complete the following exams
MCSA for SQL 2012/2014 is 70-461 & 70-462 & 70-463
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-70-461.aspx
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-70-462.aspx
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-70-463.aspx
MCSA for SQL 2016 - Development
70-761 & 70-762
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-70-761.aspx
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-70-762.aspx
MCSA for SQL 2016 - Administration
70-764 & 70-765
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-70-764.aspx
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-70-765.aspx
MCSA for SQL 2016 - Data Warehousing
70-767 & 70-768
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-70-767.aspx
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-70-768.aspx
Now if you then want to increase a MCSA to an MCSE you need to complete one exam of the following list additional to what you have already passed.
MCSE - Data Management & Analytics
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/mcse-data-management-analytics.aspx
70-464, 70-465, 70-466, 70-467, 70-762, 70-767, 70-768, 70-777
Once you have completed the required you will have a MCSA or MCSE depending how many exams you plan to complete.
ROLE BASED EXAMS
The only main role based exam is for administration which will be DP-300, this is currently in BETA it is not generally available just yet, so you can still take the exam if you wish but you will have to wait up to a good 8 weeks after the GA date to know if you passed.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/exams/dp-300
Note that these new role based exams are geared to Azure as that's the way Microsoft want you to go, so make sure you have great exposure to all flavours of SQL in Azure to be ready to take this exam.
I can't go into specifics for it as I am bound by a number of different NDA's on that but AZURE AZURE AZURE I can't stress that enough.
There is also DP-100 but that is for Data Science
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/exams/dp-100
There is then also DP-200 and DP-201 which need to be taken both to get the Data Solution role based certification
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/exams/dp-200
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/exams/dp-201
RESOURCES
Never use brain dump sites, you can read the terms and conditions, NDA's etc all on Microsoft's website
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/certification-exam-policies
To be truly safe, only use the official Microsoft published resources which are published on each of the exams web pages.

That was a detailed answer. Thanks for taking time, Anthony. I will use the resources section you have provided to prepare for the exam.
Now this may be subjective question, approximately how much preparation does it take to pass the "70-764 & 70-765" tests, given that I am reasonably new to SQL server but with almost 2 decades of experience in Oracle as developer, DBA, etc - mainly a DBA

It all depends how easily transferable your skills in Oracle are to SQL, they are two completely different products at the end of the day and while I appreciate they need to follow ANSI standards that's pretty much the commonalities between them.
I would say at least a good 12 months of hands on solid with SQL only to be in a state and you will need to explore Azure also for it as there are Azure elements in 70-764 and 70-765.
Get the list of skills measured, work out a learning plan and follow it and stick to it then I say is get the measure up practise exams, gets the authorised exam prep books and read through them and practise see where your falling short and delve deeper into those areas before attempting to sit the exams
