I just installed database mail on SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition. While doing the install I couldn't help but notice another profile. After I completed my install, I went to the SQL Server Agent properties ==> Alert System. There were two things I noted,
one the "Enable Mail Profile" was not checked. The other was after checking it the Mail profile dropdown list yielded another profile which apparently never went live.
I'm tempted to delete the profile but the cautious soul that I am - wanted to know if there were scripts that could use it without the Enable Mail Profile? And is there any way to search for it? This is a cluster environment so reviewing job by job would be a
handful.
Any comments / suggestions would be appreciated.
