What is the best career path for SQL DBA to update himself and his career ladder, Please choose your answers and tell us why you choose that and Why your answers makes sense.

For a SQL DBA, you might want to look into becoming a Data Architech or follow a path to get more into administration and less into technology but that would be up to each person to choose.

The best choice would be to follow your own interests.

Any or all of those things (except just stay a DBA for ever). I don't believe in specialising too much. Once a DBA has become a capable generalist (including competence as a developer, QA/QC manager, Support manager, and tester) he should be aiming to become eventually director (VP in left-Pondia) of R&D or of IT, or even CTO, CIO, or CEO.

None of those are promotions from DBA, they're just alternate career paths. To move DBA to one of those would be a side-ways step, not upward.

Some organization wants a DBA who know Networks Infrastructure and Systems Administration beside Database Administration also and this is mandatory for them , I don't know the name of this job (DBA + Networks Infrastructure + Systems Aministration = ? ) may we can called It Senior DBA but this is the reality

I've seen good salaries advertised for data architects. It's not necessarily a promotion though, as already mentioned.

I think we learn parts of a these things as we work as DBAs, but I wouldn't consider any of them to be promotions.
