SQL Server counter object not showing in Performance monitor

  Last week I migrated a database to a new server. Both old and new had the same Windows 2000 Adv. server (sp4) and SQL Server 2000 (sp3). Because of login and web page issues we had to go back to the old server. Last night we were able to fix the problem, so we are using the new server now, but I noticed that SQL Server counter object is not showing in Performance monitor. Can someone help me to identify the problem ?

  There is a known issue ehere the counters are not seen if Performance Monitor is open while you start SQL Server. Close Perfmon and restart SQL Server, then run Perfmon again.
