Hi All,
I recently installed a named instance of SQL server 2012 SP2 Enterprise edition onto a windows 2008R2 server, I was able to view the related SQL services in SQL server configuration manager without issue.
Yesterday I installed a new named instance (same version but standard edition), I am now only able to view the related services for this named instance in SQL Server Configuration Manager the initial instance services are not longer listed.
I have tried a repair on both instance and also the shared tools to no avail!
Has anybody come across this issue before and if so any advice/help will be gratefully received.
Kind regards,
Adam

Quick question, in a cmd as an Administrator, do all instances show up when you run a "net start" command?

Hi,
Thank you for your response.
Yes I can see the services for each instance if I run a "Net Start" from cmd line.
Kind regards,
Adam

Hi All,
I have managed to resolve this issue.
The problem was being caused by a gpo that had removed the permisions for "Network Service" (used at discovery point).
I followed this article to resolve my issue:

Kind regards,
Adam
