SQL Server Configuration Manager-Change Pending-Server Down

  • Server is unavailable. After attempted restart Confg manager reports change pending.

Are the databases recovering? What should I look at?

    Help if you can.

  • Last entry in error log. Login failed for user x. Only administrators may connect at this time

  • I ended up doing a reboot and everything came back up clean. I'll review the logs and post again if there is anything interesting.

  • So, did you find something in the errorlogs?

  • I can help you, if you provide me the log

  • Thank you for your offer. This looks like the relevant part of the log.

When I rebooted the server it went down quickly and also came back up quickly but I could not get SQL Server responsive through the configuration manager.

If there is anything else I can provide please let me know.

A cancelled query may have been the precipitating event. Or it was coincidental.
