I restarted my server in single user mode using sql server configuration manager.
for some reason, the configuration manager does not want to open up now. It gives me the following error:
Connection to target machine could not be made in a timely fashion.
Now I cant access the configuration manager and the server keeps restarting in single user mode.
Any idea how do I restart the server in normal user mode form the command prompt?
has anyone seen the
"Connection to target machine could not be made in a timely fashion." when trayng to open the connection manager?
any help will be greatelly apreciated.

you need to be very careful with single user mode - you should be able to stop and restart the service from windows services if no other way.

Even I had the same problem. The problem was with WMI service (dont know exactly whats the problem was). Restarted the WMI service and I was able to connect to the SSCM.
