  • Does SQL Server 2012 clustering support Cluster Shared Volumes?

  • Cluster shared volumes are a feature of the Windows OS cluster suite. They are usable by SQL Server see this link.

What is it you are trying to achieve?

  • I wanted to know if it is possible to setup sql 2012 clustering with clustered shared volumes. I read here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj612868.aspx that it CSV does not support the Microsoft SQL Server clustered workload in SQL Server 2012 and earlier versions of SQL Server.

  • CSVs are not something i use, they do seem more to be tied to HyperV as a way of sharing VHDs. A little like VMWare VMotion. Why do you feel the need to use these

  • I am assuming if there is a LUN failure a failover will be performed. In case of a LUN failure I dont have to worry about data loss if any data files sit on that LUN.
