SQL Server Cluster uninstall

  • Hi guys,

    There's something I could some input/feedback on.

Situation: We're trying to install a Windows 2003 machine (clustered, active/active) with SQL Server 2000. Initially we had some trouble with LSA and installing named instances, but all of that was solved.

The admin guy responsible for the machine itself wanted to uninstall SQL Server, and start again on a clean machine. However, as it turns out the client tools were not removed. He's worried about left-over registry keys and what not.

    Has anyone experienced similar trouble?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Peter

  • You should be ok with the standard uninstall method, however I've had to do a few full complete uninstalls on test systems to solve problems in the past.

I'll see if I can dig out the articles you need.
