Hi All,
While installing SQL Server cluster 2012 on windows 2012 R2, receving error :
instance directory (or command line option/ INSTANCEDIR) value for a cluster installation cannot be a directory on shared drive.
Two node cluster (Node1, Node2)
I have disk C drive, X drive(shared disk).
X drive having mount points ( one for Data, one for Log, one for Tempdb)
Shared features installing on C drive, instance root directory on X drive.
Can someone help me to resolve this issue.

The error message seems pretty clear. I do not think for a failover cluster instance the INSTANCEDIR can be on a shared drive. It must be a local drive that gets installed on every node of the cluster. The database files (data/log files, tempdb, backups) will be put on shared storage, but not the instance directory.
