I just had some fairly major computer issues(on my dev box) and had to backup / restore a hard drive. Now that I have all my data restored, I load up QA and press F1 for SQL Server BOL. So far so good. I can browse topics in the Index, I can double click them, and if they are subheadings it brings up a dialog box for me to select the topic I'm interested in.
That's as far as it ever goes. In the right hand tab, where all of the information should be on the selected topic, I have... nothing. No matter what I try to open, nothing. I'm fairly sure this is a display bug (although I can't print either), possibly relating to Nview(although I have disabled Nview to no avail), because I can see all of the topics in index, and I can perform searches through help. I just can't see the actual information.
Was hoping someone might have had some experience with this in the past that can point me in the right direction. Googling the issue is tough due to the way you'd have to describe it. I have SQL 2000 and 2008 installed on this machine, and it is affecting both of them.
[EDIT] I have re-downloaded SQL Server BOL from Microsoft and re-installed; picking the "Update an existing SQL Server BOL installation" and it did nothing to resolve the issue.

Getting back to this, the problem is now resolved. I'm still not sure what the issue was precisely, but today, to fix some other issues I was having, I re-installed Internet Explorer (apparently it had gotten hosed at some point and I didn't notice because I use Chrome) and also re-installed the 3.5 .Net framework SP1. Those two, along with doing all the missing windows updates (probably had about 20 to do) somehow resolved the issue. Just thought I'd post this in case it helped anyone out at some point.
