  Dear experts

  I have created a security -- audits, server audit specification and database audit specification. action type : backup rstore group. enable them all

  The audit log failure is fail operation.

  I made a backup on adventureworks.

  I couldnt read any thing in the target file,

  and I made several backups but nothing changed in this file

  can any one explain more the topic 'auditing' and how to read the aduditing file.

  Where and which file you are trying to open??

  try below tsql

  SELECT * FROM fn_get_audit_file('D:\Microsoft SQL Server\*.sqlaudit',DEFAULT,default)
