I HAVE A SQL SERVER 2000 (SP4) ENT. EDITION RUNNING ON WINDOWS 2003 ENTERPRISE EDITION SP1,
MSSQLSERVER SERVICE AND SQLSERVERAGENT SERVICE RUNS USING ADMINISTRATOR DOMAIN ACCOUNT
I HAVE TWO PROBLEMS IN THIS SERVER:
FIRST:
EVEN VIEWER CANT SHOW ANY INFORMATION, WHEN CLICKS ON IT "ACCES DENIED", IT'S ON APPLICATION AND SYSTEM INFORMATION.
SECOND :
SQL SERVER AGENT CANT START, WHEN YOU CLICK ON SERVICES\SQLSERVERAGENT A
MESSAGE APPEARS "SQL SERVER AGENT STARTS AND THEN STOP, SOME SERVICES STOPS IF THEY DONT HAVE NOTHING
TO DO, FOR EXAMPLE, ALERTER OR PERFORMACNCE LOG AND ALERTS
I TRY TO START SQL SERVERAGENT FROM DOS AND A DIFFENTMESSAGE APPEARS "StartServiceCtrlDispatcher (error 6)"
ANY IDEA HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEMS?
THANKS FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS

Is there anything mentioned in the error logs of sql server?
Has sql server recently been moved/renamed?
Looks like a permission issue. Normal admin functions run fine?

Has the password been changed on the domain account? I would suggest creating a domain login id that id dedicated to SQL Server (not used for anything else). You can then setup that login id so that regular password changes are not enforced.

Passwors is the same and the users is an admikn account.
I've installed a new instance in the server and everything works fine in this new one, SqlServerAgent is working well, both instance has exactly the same configuration, users, both only defualt instance is not starting Agent.
Yesterday my partner installed Sharepoint SP2 on the server, the server was restarted and then Agen cant start.
I'm thinking to remove and reinstall Sql Sever.
Thanks for your help.
