  • Hello,

Can some one help me with below,
    1. In what circumstances fail over will happen?
    2. why i am unable to fail back manually  to its original primary server? when i try to do this request is timing out

    Thanks in Advance
    Sunny

  • Hi G Sunny,

What does the error logs show at the time when it failed over.
Is there any error thrown when you attempt to failback to primary? You may have to check the error logs.

    Hello Ricky,
    Thanks for your reply,
I do not see any errors logged in SQL error log when try to fail over,
I get the attached error in fail over wizard after it complete.

    Thanks
    Sunny

  • HI G Sunny,

Based on the screenshot that you sent me, you have to check from the Windows Server Failover Cluster (WSFC) perspective.  You have to verify whether or not the WSFC node is online. You can also check WSFC error logs.
Furthermore, you have to check that the availability group resource exists in WSFC cluster.
