Hi..
I changed min memory setting on my SQL Server 2005 instance running on a 64-bit environment this morning and rebooted the service. Since then my Agent refuses to start.
The event log gives me the following error message: “SQLServerAgnet could not be started (reason: SQLServerAgent must be able to connect to SQLServer as SysAdmin, but ‘(Unknown)’ is not a member of the SysAdmin role).”
The Agent is set to run under an NT account (same as SQL Service), which belongs to sysadmin group on SQL Server as well as Administrators group on the box.
Any advices would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Anastasia

Try rebooring the server. I've found that when there are problems authenticating a Windows login and SQL Server is claiming that the user is Null or unknown, then rebooting the server will fix it.
You could also try changing the sql agent account to somethign else and then changing it back if you don't want to reboot.
