in my environment one of the sql server agent get stopped at 16:36 yesterday..today wen i check the event log it shows "SQL Server is terminating due to 'stop' request from Service Control Manager."The warning in the event lod just came before this log is...

You have to check the Event Log both system and application logs and SQL Server log.
The message about stop request from the service manager means that the SQL Server was stopped explicitly and when that happens Agent was stopped as well. I just tested it to make sure of the messages. When somebody restrted SQL Server they did not restart Agent
