SQL Server Agent (no email upon job failure)

    I have nothing more to contribute but I'd like to help you make wild guesses.

    Are you running from the DB server's desktop, or are you remotely connected to the instance using SSMS on your own PC? I had problem in the past when triggering jobs on a DR box from my local SSMS.

    Its quite strange that none of the options above have worked for you. In my experience it happened because of multiple recipients in the list but you said you've go only one . I suggest to remove and recreate the profile afresh and then check.
