Hi,
I just installed sql server 2000 enterprise edition on windows 2000. I have installed it under a domain account. I did not actually enter windows with that account inorder to perform the install. i logged in with my account which also is a domain account and has sysadmin privileges.
After the install, when i opened the sql server agent log file i have these entries:
[LOG] Unable to read local eventlog (reason: The data area passed to a system call is too small)
Also, when i try to register a new server, the register sql server wizard after the first screen is closing the enterprise manager window.
Please help
thanks

I feel it will be better if you can install under administrator account and later access by domain account.

Make the domain account a LOCAL administrator, or specifically grant it access to write to the event log.
