sql server agent keeps stopping

    Hi

    We have a few jobs running via sql server agent but I have noticed that every so often if stops itself and I have to start it again.

    This is a bit worrying as when it stops it means our backups are not being run.

    Has anyone experienced this before and does anyone know why it might happen?

    "Check your event logs, as well as your sqlserver and sqlagent errorlogs. You may find a clue in there" (Chad)

    Check the log files for any information.

    Also, do you have "Auto restart SQL Server if it stops unexpectedly" and " Auto restart SQL Server Agent if it stops unexpectedly" checked? If not, please check both.
