SQL Server Agent cannot be started

  Hi All,

  On 1 of my SQL Server's sql server agent cannot be started even manually.

  Please see event log below...

  Event Type:Error

  Event Source:SQLSERVERAGENT

  Event Category:Service Control

  Event ID:103

  Date:10/3/2008

  Time:9:20:08 AM

  User:N/A

  Computer:NT-PHO-D07

  Description:

  SQLServerAgent could not be started (reason: Unable to connect to server '(local)'; SQLServerAgent cannot start).

  For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

  This is the only event log i see on the event viewer there are no other symptoms of the error.

  Can someone help me how to restart again my SQLSERVERAGENT except from pressing start button on services property.

  Did it ever run correct? If so, what has changed?

  Under what service-account is the service running? Try using the same account as the SQL Server Engine Service.
