SQL Server Agent Accounts

  • Having recently changed the accounts my SQL Server 2000 Service services are running (now using dedicated AD accounts), can someone confirm the relevant permissions needed to run these?

I know the AD account only needs to be a member of the local Administrators group on the server if I want to utilise the Auto Restart features of the services. However, I seem to read conflicting ideas as to whether the AD account needs to have a valid SQL Login, be a member of SQL Server SysAdmin server role etc..

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
