  That is a very good thread, the only thing is are you comparing to Oracle or some other platform (Informix, Sybase, MySQL, etc.). As fr advantages and disadvantages there is no document that I have seen that goes into this, onl product comparisons which are usually one sided and do not focus on anything of value.

  I agree.

  Essentially if you want to know which is better you need to define what you need the db to do and do lots posting. You also have to consider cost and this is where companies always claim they win in the Total Cost of Ownership.

  It is very easy to do things in SQL Server and so cheap resource can be bought. This however can be misleading because experience is still needed in larger more complex databases.
