Hi,
We have node cluster with no shared drives. SQL server is installed as standalone on both the server and we are going to create always on availability group. I have some doubt on quorum configuration.
Since this is 2 node cluster and no shared drives, do we need set have quorum configured with Node and File share majority? If so, what is the best practice to have the file share- separate server/app server/somewhere else?
If quorum is not configured, what will be the impact on always on availability in 2 node cluster?

Best answer I can give, is to check the Stairway series on the subject here.

Ideally you would have a file-share witness in a third location, yes.
