All, please be aware that installing SQL Server 2016 SP2 may cause a problem with Analysis Services functions, most notably cube processing. We are in the process of seeing if the issue can be resolved with CU1.

I just had to fix this on 2017, by installing CU7.

Thanks. That's helpful. That means that MS is aware of the issue and addressing it via a CU.

I have it installed on SQL Server, we are noticing weird Lazywrites/issue not sure if it is because of this. Can you please elaborate a little bit on what issue you are noticing.

Can't help you there and doubt that is related to my issue, though am not saying that it's unrelated to the SP. I was having trouble with anything directly related to analysis services that was done via automation. So, for example, I could process the cube manually, but it would not process via the SSIS task. The cube would not backup and copy. I saw nothing not related to SSAS that was an issue. But my use of SQL Server is primarily for BI and the databases that support BI solutions.

Applying CU1 to SP2 resolved the issues we were having. If you use SSAS and apply SP2, you should plan to apply CU1 as well.

Here is the exact error I was getting in 2017:
As Ron says, it happened when processing a cube from within SSIS.
