SQL SERVER 2014 Snapshot replication

    Hi All,

    We are using SQL SERVER 2014 Snapshot replication,

    Everything looks fine. But, when one of the snapshot job fails or Distribution agent job fails.

    Although the step has retry and interval = 1 min.

    I never saw that it tries retry. This applies to both Snapshot and Distribution job.

    Is this a BUG ?

    How to resolve this issue.

    I don't use SQL Server replication so I can't answer your question but this should serve as another "bump" to your question.

    Hi,

    I think this forum need the complete error-message, or some screenshots to understand the error.

    And tell us something about your replication setup, own distributor server, and so on.

    Hi Andreas, Jeff,

    The replication setup is pretty straightforward. I have Snapshot replication.

    The Publisher, Distributor on Same server A and Subscriber on another Sever B.

    When the Distribution job fails, The job is set to re-try 10 Times and Every 1 min.

    But, I never saw the job re-tried after the failure.

    Replication job "SRVER-AYZZ-ATZZ-34" failed on 10/15/16. It started at 1:50 PM and failed about 8 minutes later with the following messages:

    2016-10-15 06:57:07.44 [98%] The replication agent had encountered an exception.

    2016-10-15 06:57:07.44 Source: Unknown

    2016-10-15 06:57:07.44 Exception Type: Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.FailedOperationException

    2016-10-15 06:57:07.44 Exception Message: Prefetch objects failed for Database 'sabio'.

    2016-10-15 06:57:07.44 Message Code: Not Applicable
