SQL server 2012 - MCSA certification

    Hi Guys,

    I am planing to do MCSA – SQL server 2012 certification, which has the following exams.

    a.Exam 70-461:

    Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012

    b.Exam 70-462:

    Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Databases

    c.Exam 70-463:

    Implementing a Data Warehouse with Microsoft SQL Server 2012

    1. I don't see the MS Press books available. If you are taking the exams, please let me know how are you studying for it?

    I don't have any previous SQL server certifications.

    2. Is there a copy of MS Sql server 2012 I can download to study? My work laptop has a SQL server 2008 which I cannot install. Is there a way to install SQL server 2012 in parrallel without effecting the SQL server 2008 instance?

    3. Any other advice for a SQL server certification newbie to start?

    We need to wait quite a while before these books are available.

    Does anyone know how long it will take for a 3 years experience SQL IT person to pass the three exams?

    Does anyone know how long it will take for a 3 years experience SQL IT person to pass the three exams (461, 462, 463)?

    Will good to split them.

    I think the 461 looks a simple one, what about the rest

    It is my first time to try a MS exam

    I passed the 461 and am working on preparing for the 462. I guess it depends on what you have done for the past three years. I studied for a weekend for the 461. My method is study, practice, training kit exams, and then take the tests when I feel ready. Also, get the second shot coupons.

    Also, you might want to start a new thread next time.

    I am studing for my MCSA as well. I have an OCA from hands on and studing Q/A. I guess I will do the same for this. I hope to have all three test by Jan 2014.
