Hi to all.
I installed SQL SERVER 2012 Enterprise on my work PC.
I have a regular licence...
I install it to study new features of BI like TABULAR MODE instead of MULTIDIMENSIONAL MODE.
Some months ago i was able to install a TRIAL version but now it expires so i was installing ORIGINAL version.
I encontered a problem during installation ..
Trying to get an install done and SQL install keeps failing when trying to install the data directories for the analysis services.
Keeps telling me the path is not valid no matter where I try to place the folders. If I leave it at the default SQL install moves on to the next step but fails at the end and give the same error with this code:
SQL Server Setup has encounterd the following error:
the folder path specified is invalid. Please enter a valid folder path..
Directories are them :
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Data
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Log
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Temp
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Backup
Can anyone help me ???

The title of your forum post is a little confusing. You are trying to install SQL Server 2012 on your work PC. Are you trying to install a failover cluster, or a stand-alone instance?

I try to install a STAND-ALONE configuration...
I work on a PC Windows7 ...
Some months ago i installe on the same PC a trial version...
All it was successfully.
Now this version is expired so i need to install a Professional Version...(with Product Key)
I will use this SQL SERVER 2012 version to study TABULAR MODE ...

I tried to install as a Default Instance and also a Named Instance...but i receive the same error.

Hi to all.
Still i have the same problem and i was not able to solve it.
I try to install SQL SERVER 2012 Enterprise Edition on a PC with Windows 7 (64 bit.)
I try to install a New SQL Istance and set Default istance ....
I tried also when i encontered an error , to create a new Istance with a different name but nothing..
I got the error during installation of Analisys Services Configuration :
The folder path specified is invalid ..Folder Path
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Sql server\MSAS11.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Data
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Sql server\MSAS11.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Log
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Sql server\MSAS11.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Temp
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Sql server\MSAS11.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Backup
Directories and path seem all okay..i nothing changed...
All previous steps of installation were with warnings and errors...
Previously i installed a TRIAL Version...can be that the problem ?
How can i solve it ???
