SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition's

  • Anyone know the difference between these two:

SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Core Edition

    SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition

  • looks like licensing:

licensed for cores on the hardware, or optionally with client cal licenses:

  • The difference is the Core edition is aimed at the Windows Core edition rather than standard Windows.

  • Ah yes, the two possible answers I was thinking of 😀

...still not sure which is the case. Isn't 2012 core only licensing, no CAL option?

  • I should have read first and posted second. Licensing is such a pain.
