SQL Server 2012 Beta Exam Results

  • Failed results is not good but I'm glad to see the results are valid..... not just pass for everyone 😉

I was kind of sure I would fail some questions especially one of three cases in 467 but I suspect they didin't take into accoount all question answers which would explain a few weeks wait.

Anyway I'm glad to see it is valid pass. Learning for MCTS 2005/2008 didn't go for nothing 😉

  • 464 is now up. Looks like I went 4 for 4, amazingly enough on the betas. And since my work is sending me to the 463 class in August, I will be MCSE in SQL by the end of August (I hope).

  • Wow, I passed it as well.

Crazy. I was sure I'd blown one of them. I suspect the poor proofing on the tests allowed a few of us to squeak through.

So know I need 463 to get certified since I have the others. Guess I'll have to work on some DW skills here soon.

  • So it wasn't just me then Steve? I was going nuts trying to figure out how to answer some of the questions because the questions made no sense -- and I knew how to do the topic being questioned. Lots of typos and inconsistent schema. Yeah, I could see passing because of the flaws in the betas.

  • I heard from a few people about flaws in the exams, and I noticed a few. I suspect that there were issues, but I'm not sure there were a ton. If there were, I'd like to know. It would mean that I should know more.

After each exam, I had a list of 5-10 items that I wrote down in the car and took home. I dug into some of them and found a few things I didn't know, and a few I did, so I felt fairly confident on 2 of the exams. Shaky on two more.

    Now it's on to 463.

  • I took 70-461 querying yesterday and I passed! This was the easiest one for me and I didn't have to prepare at all :p.... but questions were relatively complex and took time to even understand them!

They improved the commenting. You are able to select questions for review/comment and at the end; comment them without having to go throught entire set of questions! This time I had enough time to post all my comments!

Last exam 70-462 Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Databases which will be the hardest for me.... as I'm not a DBA and have little to do with that! Just bought a book.... I'll do first attempt in 2-3 weeks time and I hope to get 50-60% and see my weak points.... Hopefully after that another few weeks of studying will help me to get 70%.....I'm not interested in getting higher score in this one!

    Regards

    Emil

  • Very strange. 464 was the last exam to show up on Prometric, and yet it seems to be the first (and so far only) of my tests to show up on the MCP site. Still no email from Microsoft on any of it.

  • I couldn't log in to MCP site today (asked me for some ID and access code) but it suddenly started working.

I can see 3 on MCP site apart from the one I took last Sunday.

    Now preparing for 70-462

Anyone interested in 70-461 querying 2012? here's a page with most links to microsoft site and our tutorials Tutorial for 70-461 Querying SQL Server 2012 We hope to do the same for the rest of certifications.... so much easier for us to cover 'problem' areas 😉

    Regards

  • Just checked and 464 Developing has appeared on my Prometric candidate history - and it was a Pass! Yay!

None of the Betas have been reflected on the MCP website for me yet.

  • Saw the 463 on the MCP site a few moments ago. But I wondered, will we also get our scores from Prometric on the exams? Never did betas before so no prior experience with that...

Yes, you get the formal score report in the post.

  • OK, still no email from Microsoft, and still no sign of 461, 2, or 5 in my MCP history (though 464 is there). Are others seeing these delays, and I should just be patient, or is there possibly something amiss here?

  • Be patient.

MS doesn't email you with beta exam result. You get the paper results in the post from Prometric. As for the MCP site, it says that it takes time to reflect and for beta exams you can always expect a longer delay than the normal exams

  • Hi

Where can I find some learning material for the 2012 exams?
