  Hello,

  I have a question here. We currently have SQL Server 2005. Do we need to purchase SQL Server 2008 in order to upgrade to it ? How about for setting up a test environment ? Please let me know

  Yes. You will need a liscence for upgrading to 2008. If you want permanent test enviroment buy a developer version.

  Hi,

  Apurpa is right, you will need to purchase the license for SQL 2008. You can use MSDN version if you guy subscribe for MSDN otherwise Developer Version is the cheapest way to use for Development.
